Inbox
Inbox is a platform that helps you connect with partner labs and dental practices. It makes it easy to receive and process orders. It's designed to work seamlessly with Straumann Nova, streamlining the entire process for dental professionals.

Log in with your username in Straumann Nova.

Click in the left side bar.
Inbox prompts you to create your first connections to partner services. You can skip this step and create connections later.
Use Inbox to connect to different partner services you need to receive orders from, such as CARES Connect and 3Shape Communicate*. You can also create a local connection for orders from folders on your computer or the local network.

Click > Connections.

Click Add and select the type of connection you want.

Enter username and password for external connections. Browse to folders for local connections.

Click Save and Done to close the window.
When connected, the status indicator shifts from red (disconnected) to green (connected).
* You need Straumann SAP credentials and a 3Shape Communicate account to connect to 3Shape Communicate. You can sign up to the 3Shape Communicate portal here.

Click > Connections.
- Select the connection you want to remove.
- Click Remove and then Done to save and close.
Click > Settings to change the dental notation system, the language and region, or the size of the fonts and items on the screen.
New orders coming from established connections are shown chronologically on the Received tab until you accept or reject them.

Scroll through and preview orders by clicking them. To view details, scroll up and down to the right of the screen.

To open and view attached scan files, click or .

To rotate the scan, right-click and hold.

To move the scan, left-click and hold the mouse wheel.

To zoom in or out, use the mouse wheel.

To display other attachments, click or .
Accepted orders are listed in Straumann Nova, ready to be processed. They are listed on the Accepted tab for the next 30 days.
Rejected orders are moved from the Received to the Rejected tab for the next 30 days.

Go to Received and click the order you want to reject.

Click in the top right corner.
You can save scan files in STL or PLY format for later processing. To do so:

Click on the order containing the attachments.

Click Export files and select a destination folder.

Click Save. A folder with the case ID as its name opens. Your files will be grouped into Scans and Attachments subfolders.
You also have the option to export the order, but keep in mind that you can only process exported orders using CARES Visual or Straumann Nova. The order file format is incompatible with other CAD applications.
Note that when you remove orders from Inbox, they remain available online.

Clickon the order to remove.

Click Remove.
Before you can remove Received orders, you must first accept or reject them.
Cases on the Accepted, Rejected, or Shipped tabs are automatically deleted after 30 days.
indicates updates are available.

Go to , and click Update available.

Click Update now.
Inbox automatically closes and restarts after the update.
For the complete uninstall, follow the steps recommended by your operating system. Note that in this case, all Inbox files and data are removed from your computer.
To uninstall Inbox but keep files and configuration settings, follow these steps:

Enter Apps & features in Windows Search.

Click Apps & features.
-
Scroll down to Inbox and select it.

Click Modify and Next.
-
Click Remove.
Inbox automatically closes and restarts for the update.
